An option contract has three important elements.
1) Exercise price or strike price, which is the base price or the reference price for a transaction.
2) The length of the contract or expiration month.
3) The premium or fee paid by buyer to the seller.
Types or class of options:
Call option – This entitles buyer to buy securities.
Put option – This entitles buyer to sell securities.
